Why should I use a subdomain as the sender domain?

Why should I use a subdomain for my sender address?

The required MX record ensures that all emails sent to the domain are forwarded accordingly. If this record is placed on a main domain, all emails, including your internal emails, will be forwarded to MAILINGWORK. Therefore, it is advisable to use a subdomain exclusively for MAILINGWORK mailings.

What should be considered when sending emails?

  1. As the sender address, you must use mailboxes with the subdomain (e.g., mailbox@subdomain.maindomain.com).
  2. All mailboxes used as sender or reply addresses in emails must also exist on the main domain.

If subscribers reply to an email sent from the subdomain, the MAILINGWORK host receives these emails and forwards them to the corresponding mailbox on the main domain (e.g., mailbox@subdomain.maindomain.com is forwarded to mailbox@maindomain.com).

All bounces remain accessible in the MAILINGWORK account as usual.

Summary

  1. Create a subdomain and inform MAILINGWORK support.
  2. Enter the provided DKIM records in the subdomain settings.
  3. Send emails from the subdomain moving forward.
