Why should I delete hard bounces?

Why should I delete hard bounces?

Hardbounces refer to "returns" of emails that are no longer deliverable. This can occur for various reasons, such as the email address, domain, or provider no longer existing. A hardbounce might also happen because the provider is temporarily unreachable. For this reason, you should clean up bounce lists only after two or three consecutive bounces.

Email providers analyze the sending statistics of email senders. Repeatedly sending emails to addresses that cause hardbounces is typically penalized by placing the sender on a blacklist. This means that future emails sent through this provider will not be delivered.

The MAILINGWORK system is configured to exclude all addresses with three hardbounces from future mailings. This is to protect you and other MAILINGWORK users. However, we recommend that you regularly delete hardbounces to maintain an overview of your lists.

It is also important to note that you should update and never replace addresses. Replacing them would result in the loss of the subscriber ID, which links the email address to the bounce message.
