What should I check after importing subscribers?

After a successful import, MAILINGWORK offers various options to clean your subscriber data under Subscribers > Clean Lists. Key features include removing invalid addresses and duplicate checks.

Remove Invalid Addresses

Invalid addresses occur when the syntax of email addresses is incorrect:

  • infomailingwork.de (missing the @ symbol)
  • info@mailingwork. (missing domain extension)

Since emails cannot reach such addresses, they should be removed from your lists. Do not attempt to correct these manually, as they may have been entered intentionally incorrect, and you would lack a valid opt-in.

Duplicate Check

The duplicate check searches subscriber lists for duplicates, such as those based on email addresses. Duplicates may arise due to imports using the "add" option or when subscribers sign up for lists they are already part of. Multiple comparison fields are available, such as email, last name, or customer number.

Unsubscription Check

Typically, addresses are checked against unsubscription lists during import. If not, you can perform this check later. This removes all contacts from your subscriber list who have unsubscribed, preventing them from being re-added to recipient lists.
