Send mailings to zip code areas

Would you like to send a mailing to a specific postal code range? When working with a large number of postal codes (50 or more), manually creating a target group can become cumbersome. This guide shows you how to significantly simplify this process by using a special postal code range field.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Create a New Field

Create a new subscriber field with the name "Postal Code Range" in MAILINGWORK.

2. Prepare CSV File

Create a CSV file with 2 columns. In the first column, list all relevant postal codes, each postal code in its own row. In the second column, enter a unique identifier for this postal code range (e.g., "ZIP_Berlin_Center"). This identifier must be identical in each row.

3. Import CSV File

For the import, select your mailing list and assign the columns as follows: Column 1 to the existing subscriber field "Postal Code" and Column 2 to the new subscriber field "Postal Code Range".

Select "Update" as the import type. IMPORTANT: The option "delete missing recipients" must NOT be activated.

Choose "Postal Code" as the identification field and "Postal Code Range" as the update field.

4. Create Target Group

Select "Condition based on subscriber data". Then select your new field "Postal Code Range", the operator "is" and your defined identifier as the value (e.g., "ZIP_Berlin_Center").

Advantages of this Method

This method allows you to efficiently manage extensive postal code ranges. You can easily create multiple target groups for different regions and save time on repeated mailings to defined postal code ranges.
