The "Retained Adresses" function is an intelligent protection mechanism that guards you against repeated delivery problems. It works in the background and helps you continuously maintain a high level of sending quality.
Key features:
How it works: When an email address generates a hard bounce three consecutive times, Mailingwork classifies this address as permanently undeliverable. This address is then automatically placed on the internal "Retained List." In all subsequent campaigns, mailings to this address are retained, thereby avoiding unnecessary bounces. This not only conserves your sending volume but also actively protects your sender reputation and improves your delivery rates.
A special case are collection addresses (like info@example.com) that forward to multiple recipients. Here, a single mailing can lead to multiple bounces and thus trigger a bounce series.
If a recipient with a retained address wants to receive newsletters again, this address can be reactivated after appropriate verification by your administrator.
