How does the tracking work?

To evaluate the success of a newsletter, two key metrics are particularly important, which can be captured through automatic tracking:

Open Rate

If you have activated the "Track Open Rate" option in the "Advanced Settings" of your newsletter, opens are automatically tracked. An open is recorded when the recipient loads the images in the newsletter or clicks a tracked link.

The loading of images is monitored via a 1-pixel invisible tracking pixel located at the end of the newsletter. For this to work, the recipient must allow the loading of linked images in their inbox. The newsletter setting "Inbound Images" does not affect the tracking pixel.

Click Rate

If you have activated the "Automatic Link Tracking in HTML Section" option in the "Advanced Settings" of your newsletter, clicks for every link in the mailing are tracked. The original link is replaced by a tracked link that redirects via the MAILINGWORK server (MAILINGWORK URL or custom sending domain) to the original link URL, recording the click in the process.
