How does a (personalized) test mailing work?

MAILINGWORK offers a range of testing options for your emails, including the test send, which can be found under the "Test" tab.

Clicking on the "Test" button opens a separate window where you can choose between a normal test send (to any test address) or a personalized test send.

Personalized Test Send

  • In the "Recipients" section, select the specific email address of the recipient, i.e., the individual test address.
  • In the dropdown menu "Select Personalization", choose the option "Random Personalization".
  • Then, set the subscriber list and, if applicable, the target group for sending the mailing. A random subscriber from the subscriber list will be selected for the personalization.

For example, if the placeholder [salutations /] is used in the newsletter, it will be enriched with the respective subscriber data and personalized, e.g., "Dear Mr. Max Mustermann".

Create New Test Addresses

New test addresses can be created via the "Create" button. You can predefine multiple personalizations/addresses in the subscriber management, easily add them, and toggle them on or off for the next test.

These testing options help you optimally review the personalization and presentation of your mailings.
