How can I avoid recalculations due to too much traffic?
The maximum size per email specified in your contract (typically 100 KB) refers to the average size of all emails you send throughout the billing year. To avoid additional charges due to excessive traffic, it is important to monitor this average value. You can find a helpful overview of the monthly average values under Statistics > Sendings > Sent Emails.

If your emails are larger than 100 KB on average, it may be due to the following reasons. To reduce the data size per email, we recommend the following:
- Attachments: Instead of attaching documents directly, upload them to our media management or a webspace and include a link to the documents in the email. This significantly reduces the email size.
- Images: Images can be embedded or linked externally. We recommend avoiding the use of inbound images (Advanced Settings > Type and Format > Content) and instead linking images externally. This saves space and reduces the email size.
- HTML Source Code: Minimize the amount of source code used. If the first two reasons do not apply, check whether the source code can be optimized. We’re happy to assist you with this.
